Greetings and salutations, oh most erudite and intelligent reader, and pardon this one for the redundancy. I welcome you to the Shadow Tower, a place for critical literary analysis of that most maligned and unacademic of literary forms, Fanfiction. Trulyly, comic books garnereth greater respect than does Fanfiction, even though Fanfiction is elder, and filled with such respectable examples as Arthurian Legend, Fairy Tales, Religious Apocrypha (at LEAST), mythology in every part of the world, and all known forms of oral tradition. Such a proud pedigree surely merits it greater consideration in the grand scheme of creation, doth it not?
I will be doing reviews, recommendations, critique and commentary on recent and bygone trends, the aforementioned analysis… and sometimes (okay, probably a lot of the time) fun, crack, lists and funny quotes. And probably pimp out my attempts at books too, but let’s not get into that.
So please, follow me (hopefully literally and figuratively) into the slightly twisted, often strange, ever-creative, and surprisingly intelligent and erudite world of fanfiction.

I’ve been writing Fanfiction since 2005 and been studying literature and creative writing for just as long. After applying skills learned in several years of college to dusty stories that make me want to kill myself, I’ve finally decided to apply them to stories I actually like, and have to wonder what took me so long. I blame the President. Doesn’t matter who they are or what country, they’re to blame.
I’m also an aspiring writer and will probably start using this blog to post my original writings at some point, but hopefully by that time I’d have hooked in enough people interested who’d actually read such drivel…
